Job profile – Product & Account Manager Julia

I am Julia, 22 years old and I am the Product & Account Manager for Juvigo Netherlands. I started here as an intern in 2022 after studying International Tourism Management in Leeuwarden. I had then started as a Business Development Intern and then grew (almost) 3 years later to my current position for the Dutch market.

“What inspires me is the passion I feel from the organizers, who year after year do their best to create a fantastic experience for thousands of children and young people.”

If you could book a holiday through Juvigo for yourself, which camp or destination would you go to?

Without a doubt, I would go for one of the fantastic international surf camps in France: Vieux Boucau. Every time I see a booking for this, I feel a small stab of jealousy.

What exactly do you do at Juvigo? Can you describe your typical working day?

The nice thing about working at Juvigo, is that no working day looks the same. As a product manager, I deal with various tasks, and I also divide my tasks myself based on what is most important at the time.

I deal with everything to do with our Dutch market. This is mainly partner management, where I have to make sure we keep in touch with our partner organisations, that organise camps and trips, so they stay happy with our cooperation. I also try to add new partners to our offer, so I do a bit of B2B sales as well. By the way, this is also a link to my international task within Juvigo. Together with my Portuguese colleague (Miguel), I am responsible for the ‘International sales & acquisition team’, where we train and motivate our international colleagues to bring in new partners.

What do you like most about working at Juvigo?

I have been given a lot of responsibility from day one, which for me personally is a very important motivator in my working life. That way you are encouraged to learn new things and lead your own projects. The icing on the cake is that you do this together with a group of fantastic and friendly colleagues, who encourage you every step of the way and guide you where it’s necessary. The working atmosphere at Juvigo is therefore one of the main reasons why I like coming to the office every day.

What skills do you think would be most valuable to have in your role at Juvigo?

A background or interest in the tourism industry is of course always useful. However, I think the most important skills are the soft skills: independence, communication skills, sense of responsibility, time management and overall curiosity for new tasks and skills.

How would you describe the dynamics within the Juvigo team? What makes your collaboration successful?

The dynamics within Juvigo are unique. Many of us have been working together for several years and are well attuned to each other. It is a friendly, informal atmosphere that I personally like very much. The steps on the hierarchy ladder aren’t too big, which gives me the feeling that I can always express my thoughts and ideas, where I might normally be a bit more reserved. Now I don’t have that problem, because there is a feeling of trust and respect among the colleagues with whom I work closely.

What do holiday camps and language trips mean to you?

From a young age I could every summer be found at a football camp of my home club, or a pony camp in Drenthe. All activities, improv-evenings, ghost tours or campfires are memories that I still carry with me today, as some of the (emotionally) best moments of my life.

When I was a bit older I went on my first solo trip to Bournemouth, where I did a two week language trip. This trip sparked my love for traveling and my independence, and has probably had a major impact on my study and work life today.

My experiences have made holiday camps and language trips an indispensable part of my own life. That is why I want to offer such experiences to as many children and teens as possible.

What would you say to someone considering applying to Juvigo? What makes the company a good place to work?

Juvigo is a company where you will not only learn technical things like sales, SEO or WordPress. You will also develop yourself personally in a fantastic city like Berlin. You will find a wide range of tasks that you are responsible for. On top of that, you will work with a nice group of colleagues, who you will quickly consider as friends.

What inspires you in your work and how do you stay motivated and involved?

I find it important to experience a good balance between “backstage” tasks and personal contact with clients and partners. It is important to me to feel that my work and efforts make an impact. This is something I especially feel during the personal contact I have with our partners, for example during our annual partner visits in the Netherlands. What inspires me is the passion I feel from the organizers, who year after year do their best to create a fantastic experience for thousands of children and young people.

How do you see the future of Juvigo? Are there any developments or changes that you are looking forward to?

I expect that in the long term we will continue to improve our brand awareness, and that in a few years we will be a well-known player in the world of holiday camps, youth holidays and language trips. Our team is constantly working on this and I have been able to see the results year after year!

Finally, is there anything you would like to share with readers, both customers and potential future colleagues?

Trust in yourself, your skills and the characteristics that make you unique. In your personal life and at work.
